CORONAVIRUS RELIEF

ADVOCACY

 EFFORTS

The extraordinary challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic call for extraordinary efforts. That’s why CCIM Institute and the Institute for Real Estate Management have been working together and collaborating with other real estate industry partners to advocate on behalf of the industry and provide invaluable resources to help commercial real estate practitioners successfully navigate this volatile market. Key issues include: 1031 like-kind exchanges, Main Street Business Relief, loan modifications, and more.

Here’s what we achieved in 2020:

MEMBER ADVOCACY

Calls to action allow individuals to directly contact their federal and state representatives via email on important legislative issues.

CCIM Institute and IREM issued our first call to action in anticipation of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which was enacted on March 27.

A second call to action urged Congress to replenish the SBA 7(a) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, along with additional requests for the next comprehensive coronavirus relief legislative package.

Thank you to the thousands of industry professionals who rallied and sent

more than 7,000 messages to their legislators to let their voices be heard.
